(WRECK-IT RALPH vs FREE GUY)
“Life is the game that must be played” - Edwin Arlignton Robinson
LET’S BEGIN
RALPH, the “Bad Guy” of Fix-It Felix Jr!
GUY, the Blue Shirt “NPC” of Free City!
When life always meets the status quo, it can get a bit dull and draining, not helped if said status quo was something you didn’t enjoy. So what if you had a chance to change that, become someone worthy of admiration and respect? When you mix this question with the age-old classic question of “what would it be like to live in a video game”, you get these two. They both went on that journey and ended up discovering that they were worth what they strived for.
While their lives may now be what they have wanted, as we all should know extra lives are limited. Who will get a Game Over first? Will Ralph take out the NPC, or will Guy be able to defeat the boss level? Let’s answer…
WHO WOULD WIN?!
WHAT WILL BE USED?!
For Ralph it starts fairly simple: His two movies, his tie in video games, the children books, novelizations, and merchandise.
Now as you should probably know by now, there are dozens upon dozens of Disney Crossovers which could be a pain in the neck. Thankfully, Ralph isn’t one of the more complicated cases of this, in most media he is treated as a fictional character, taking place in a game, so that removes any cross scaling issues that could’ve happened.
That doesn’t fully remove ALL of the crossovers though…
While this game wouldn’t be too much of worth, at most added for fun abilities since this is technically “a simulation”, this actually has an in-universe reason for why Ralph and the gang are here.
You see, the plot of Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is that Ralph and Vanellope found a new game and after going inside, they end up embarking on a quest to stop an evil virus that has been infecting other characters. All the characters here are technically inside a video game here, so Ralph can absolutely be given this without any canon issues.
If Ralph is being given this, other projects that have the “simulation, summon, alternate universe” excuse should be fair game, so Disney Sorcerers Arena, Kingdom Hearts (no cross scaling like last time though), and Lorcana will also be given (also all those other random crossover puzzle matching games I suppose but those don’t have anything).
Finally, let's talk about racing! Both Disney Speedstorm and Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed both feature Ralph, while they technically can be excluded, they will be added for more fun and to feel like a complete profile. No cross scaling though (although there are few impressive feats in both games anyways).
(I also forgot to mention the Pac-Man collab but it legit does nothing...)
As for Guy, he will be getting his own movie and…
…
That’s all? Wasn’t he in Fortnite? No? Who did they put in?
Huh, neat.
Well surprisingly there’s not even a movie novelization, guess that will make this guy a bit easier to research at least…

Welcome to Arcade Gaming! The era where people used to play games in cabinets and insert quarters to play games to get the highest score and finish the game, inserting more money to get more attempts and to not lose progress. While we have moved past this format of gaming, it was a nostalgic experience that people have always wanted to revisit and live through. Not to mention the community interaction and competition with instant escapism from reality, it’s no question that arcade games still exist today.
Well what if I told you that there was more to these arcade games then you might’ve initially thought. Turns out at night where no one is in the arcade, the arcade residents actually are a part of a secret society that engages with one another. The arcade characters are like actors, to let the gamers have their fun and to not get unplugged, and at night they get to hang out with each other. But what would probably be the most important arcade game of all would be a little game called Fix-It Felix Jr!
The game's plot is that the villain Wreck-It-Ralph gets upset after his stump gets moved into a dump, with his former living space being replaced with the Nicelanders building. In retaliation, Ralph wrecks the building and it is up to the hero Fix-It Felix to fix the building and stop Ralph. If the player is skilled enough, Felix saves the day, gets a medal and pie, and Ralph is tossed off the building and lands in a mud pile. That’s the end of that story, but little do we the players know that there was more to Ralph than meets the eye…
While in the day Ralph may seem like a horrible person, destroying property and hurting innocent people, that couldn’t be further from the truth at night. Just because Ralph is a “Bad Guy” doesn’t mean he is a Bad Guy! Ralph may look scary and mean, but his big stature really is the way it is to fit his big heart. Ralph has shown to be nice like him giving food to unplugged characters, trying to help people wherever he can, and being as respectful as he can to the other arcade residents. But despite this, nobody saw him this way, viewing how the game presents him, “The Bad Guy!”
30 years of this happened, but on the 30th anniversary of his game, Ralph had enough. Seeing that there was a party about the anniversary that he wasn’t invited to, Ralph tried to join in as it was his game too. Felix was actually reasonable and sympathized with Ralph, his own role as the hero not being just for show, but the other Nicelanders rejected him, fearing Ralph. In particular, their leader Gene told Ralph that he didn’t deserve to be with them and that he was a Bad Guy and would always be one. This infuriated Ralph, making him realize that he needed to take matters into his own big ham hands.
Ralph went searching for a medal similar to the one Felix would receive but found nothing. Luckily for Ralph, he found a soldier from the newest game “Hero’s Duty” who revealed that a medal could be achieved in said game. After the soldier passed out at the sight of a cockroach, Ralph got the idea to steal his armour and then grab the medal for himself!
Ralph snuck into Hero’s Duty in order to grab the medal. He posed as the soldier and acted as one of the NPCs to help the player win the medal. What Ralph wasn’t expecting was the Cy-Bugs, unlike the rest of the characters in the Arcade, they didn’t know they were video game characters since they were mindless, trying to destroy everything in sight. Ralph was overwhelmed by the Cy-Bugs and his clumsiness in the battlefield cost the player a Game Over! Not wanting to go through that again, Ralph snuck to the tower where the medal would usually be earned and took it. However, Ralph accidentally hatched a Cy-Bug egg which caused a mini scuffle between him and the Cy-Bug to escalate to an escape pod. The escape pod traveled from Hero’s Duty to another game called Sugar Rush! Ralph escaped the Cy-Bugs wrath and thought the Cy-Bug drowned in a nearby lake. Sadly, his medal was stolen by a small child named Vanellope.
Ralph tracked down Vanellope to get his medal back, but he was too late as Vanellope used it to enter a race and could only give it back if she won. Unfortunately, the rest of the Sugar Rush residents fear Vanellope for her glitching problem and thus destroyed her kart. Feeling empathy for her and knowing that if she doesn’t win the race his medal is as good as gone, Ralph makes a truce with Vanellope and promises to help her win if she gives him back the medal.
Both Ralph and Vanellope snuck into the Kart Bakery in order to make Vanellope a new Kart. While it was a mess thanks to Ralph’s strength, Vanellope ended up loving it which managed to soften Ralph to her. However, the King of Sugar Rush known as King Candy caught them and chased them down. Turns out Vanellope didn’t know how to drive. So after escaping, Ralph got upset at Vanellope until he learned who Vanellope was. She was a glitch who everyone hated because of what she was instead of who she was, she couldn’t even leave her own game. Empathizing with her, Ralph ended up teaching Vanellope how to drive by creating a track with brute force and being there for her efforts. The two became friends and things seemed to be going well, Vanellope was now ready to race.
Sadly, the villainous King Candy wasn’t finished as after learning Ralph’s good nature and why he was there in the first place, he decided that he would use his good heart against him. He gave Ralph the medal back as he convinced Ralph that it would be best if Vanellope couldn’t race. He told Ralph that if Vanellope won, her glitch could be noticeable enough that gamers would think the game is busted and it would be unplugged, with Vanellope being unable to escape and would die. While King Candy’s intentions here were manipulative, he wasn’t wrong either. So Ralph made the tough choice to destroy Vanellope’s Kart, effectively terminating their friendship as a result.
With nowhere left to go, Ralph went back to his own game since he had his medal. Unfortunately, because Ralph left his own game, it was put out of order and would be shut down since Felix also disappeared looking for Ralph. Ralph finally could live in the building, but he was still and always would be alone…
That is until he saw the Sugar Rush arcade, he saw something interesting, VANELLOPE ON THE ARCADE CABINET! If Vanellope was a so-called glitch, then how come she was a key character after all? Ralph returned to Sugar Rush to question King Candy’s assistant Sour Bill on why Vanellope was a character after all? After some integration, Sour Bill revealed that Vanellope was originally a character in Sugar Rush, but her code was messed with by King Candy so that he could rule with an iron fist. The reason he fears Vanellope racing is because if she crosses the finish line at all, the game will reset and she won’t be a glitch anymore. After the integration, Ralph made a plan to save Sugar Rush!
First Ralph found Felix and asked him if he could use his magical hammer to fix Vanellope’s Kart. Felix at first refused, saying because of Ralph he wouldn’t have gone on a long journey to save him and fall in love with a woman named Calhoun, who abandoned him and the rest of Sugar Rush treated him like an intruder and locked him up. Ralph responded with the statement of that being how he felt everyday which finally opened up Felix’s mind, Ralph promised that he would never do this again which convinced Felix into helping Ralph. After making amends with Vanellope, they entered her into the race and she went on to compete with the rest of the Sugar Rush racers, eventually uncovering King Candy being the first game hopping villain known as Turbo!
Everything was looking good as Vanellope was winning, but Calhoun came by and warned everyone that the Cy-Bugs survived the drowning and had started giving birth to thousands of other Cy-Bugs. Sugar Rush was soon invaded by these creatures and destroyed the finish line, preventing Vanellope from leaving and dooming her to death. Ralph then realized what he had to do, in Hero’s Duty the Cy-Bugs were killed off by putting up a beacon. Ralph realized that if he punched the soda volcano hard enough, he could cause an eruption that would kill them all.
Ralph quickly made his way to the volcano, only to be met with a Cy-Bug infused King Candy, wanting to infect other games. Ralph battled King Candy, but was taken to the sky. Ralph, seeing Vanellope in danger, decided to make the ultimate sacrifice. He dropped from King Candy’s clutches and hit the volcano, being unable to stop himself from falling into the lava but knowing that he would’ve saved Vanellope’s life. In his final moments, he finally accepted himself for who he was. Luckily for our heartstrings, Vanellope managed to save Ralph from death at the last minute thanks to her racing skills. The volcano erupted and sucked every Cy-Bug in, including King Candy. Thanks to Ralph, he saved Sugar Rush!
Now with Sugar Rush saved, the gang fixed the finish line and Vanellope crossed it. The game restored itself, giving everyone their memories of Vanellope back, revealing that she was the entitled ruler of Sugar Rush! Thanks to Ralph, Sugar Rush finally returned to normal with everyone able to live their lives happily.
As for Ralph, he returned to his own game and was met with respect, since he saved another game and was finally acknowledged as being an important part of his own game, the Nicelanders were now nice to him! Ralph still felt bad for the homeless game characters, so he came up with the idea to create bonus levels in his game for them to share the spotlight with, giving them a home.
With Ralph getting the respect he deserves, you’d think that he wouldn’t need to give those guys a home. But really, this is who he was all along. He may be a “Bad Guy” but when it comes down to it, he’s as good as it gets. Ralph and everyone else finally understands this. The best part of his day is when he gets thrown off the building, because he gets to see a good view of Vanellope racing. The gamers love her and when she waves to him, he always thinks of this.
If a little kid can like him, how bad can he be?

But if the Arcade is representation of gaming's past, what about its present and future? That’s where online gaming comes in. During the prime of console gaming, people used to play together in person in order to fufill the multiplayer dream, that was until developers figured out how to connect consoles together across far distances, creating online gaming as a whole. Here millions of people can come together and play the same game together while all being in different corners of the world.
One of online gaming's biggest genres is shooter games, coming into several different styles like Single Player and Battle Royales. But then a small game called Free City came along and took on the role of an MMO shooter. Free City stars you as you go around in a city and break as many laws as you can, killing as many players as possible in order to rise the ranks and get money. It’s a game for glory!
However, you can’t just kill players, you need to kill other people and do missions. This is where NPCs come in. While they may just be background characters, they are important as without them the game would feel empty. Say what you will about these guys, but they add to the world of Free City. Well little did we know that these guys actually were alive inside the game, and they had their own lives, even if they weren’t aware of themselves being inside a video game. But they were fairly simple, living how they were programmed, but there was one exception. His name was… Guy… yeah real creative.
Guy’s life is pretty simple: wake up, say good morning to his goldfish Goldie, eat a bowl of cereal, go out for some coffee, walk to work with his best buddy… Buddy, works at the bank, has the players rob the bank and risk their lives, and then end the day off with eating Ice Cream with Buddy and go to bed. However, there was something in Guy’s code that gave him just the slightest amount of depth, he wanted to find the perfect person for him.
Guy’s life would remain unchanged, sure he wanted something new to spice up his life, but it was never going to happen. He would continue this cycle, it was like he would always be stuck in an endless life of mediocrity. That would change when he saw a Molotov Girl, seeing her put butterflies in his stomach. However, she was wearing sunglasses, an item that all players wear that signify their power, allowing them to do whatever they want. This would mean that Guy just wouldn’t be able to talk to her.
So in order to fix this issue, Guy needed his own pair of sunglasses. While Guy couldn’t just buy one, his usually unfortunate circumstance of always getting attacked by players ended up working in his favor as he stole one of the players sunglasses the next day. This allowed Guy to now see all the in game mechanics and UI’s. Guy didn’t fully understand this but all he knew was that he could finally talk to the Molotov Girl.
Guy ended up meeting with the Molotov Girl again, she was quite confused about Guy, he wasn’t acting like all the other players cause he was actually nice!? In real life, she was a girl named Millie who originally worked on a previous build of the game, but it got bought out by a CEO named Antwan who bought it and turned it into a shooter. She was looking around to find a way to sue Antwan and didn’t want anyone interrupting her, so she said she’d hang out with him if he levels up to level 100.
Now it takes a long time for most Free City players to level up to 100, but Guy was determined so he rose up the ranks fast. He gained traction online for several reasons: he was rising faster than most players, he was wearing “an NPC skin”, and he was the only player to rise as fast as he was playing “the good guy” by saving the NPCs. This gave him a cult following in the real world, several people adoring him and wanting to be better people in game and in real life.
When Guy met up with Millie again, he got her attention due to his online presence. He helped her out on a mission and then they hung out. Apparently Guy and Millie had a lot in common like enjoying bubblegum ice cream, swings, and various musical tastes, along with a desire for a non violent world. Millie actually quite liked Guy, but then the other developer of the original build named Keys came by and revealed to her that Guy wasn’t a player, he was an NPC. He also was working at the studio the game is currently being produced in and found out that the game was going to be shut down for a sequel and all the NPCs in the original game will be killed as a result.
With no other options left, Millie had to show Guy the truth about his reality; his entire life was just code, it wasn’t real. He lived in a video game, and what hurt him most was the fact that he was an NPC, a background character, not even worth anything. Everything Guy lived and felt was fake. Guy left Millie and stopped using his sunglasses, finally realizing the predictable coding of everyone around him.
Lost, Guy sought Buddy for advice. He asked him if he found out he wasn’t real, how he would feel. Buddy shocked Guy with his answer of “so what if I’m not real.” According to Buddy, even if he wasn’t real, the moment between him and Guy is real. This made Guy realize something important, even though he and the rest of his world isn’t technically real, the lives and emotions of the other people are and he still cares for everyone. Even if his world is fictional, it’s real to them, and Guy won’t let it get deleted.
So Guy got to work and managed to find the evidence that Millie and Keys made the game, not Antwan. Realizing that Guy’s popularity would be a threat to Free City 2, Antwan reboots the entire server, along with Guy himself. This gives Guy amnesia, but after getting advice from Keys to give Guy a reminder of their past, Millie in game kisses him, restoring his memories, ALL OF THEM, even ones that he didn’t know he had…
So while the evidence of Free City being Millie and Keys’ game is now deleted thanks to the reboot, Guy gained something greater, memories of the original build of Free City or what it used to be called “Life Itself.” Life Itself was actually a peaceful game about complex NPCs where the player would visit them in a life simulator. Guy remembered that there was an island beyond the ocean and turns out it was still in the game deep in, so all they would have to do to prove Antwan didn’t make the game and sue him was to prove that the island was there.
Guy, Millie, and Keys begin to make their last ditch effort to save the digital world Guy and his friends live in. Guy manages to convince all the NPCs that they deserve more in life, a peaceful life, and has them all hide in a coffee shop so that all the players in Free City wouldn’t get in the way and would be free to follow up on the next stage of the plan. Keys then livestreamed Guy’s POV so that everyone can see the proof. Antwan catches on pretty quickly so he tries closing all the buildings together to try and squish Guy and fails. He then sends a beta boss fight NPC named Dude to fight Guy but Guy manages to defeat him.
Knowing that he would get sued, Antwan decided it was better to boot every player out of the lobby and try to destroy the game. He did exactly that, leaving Guy alone and Antwan began hacking away with an axe, destroying the games servers. With everything on the line Guy takes a leap of faith across the ocean and… successfully makes it on the island. All the NPCs see this and cheer, and all the gamers watching are now fully aware of Life Itself now, cheering for Guy!
Knowing he had lost, Antwan tried to destroy the rest of the game since he would get sued anyways but Millie decided to make a deal with him! She and Keys would get full ownership of Life Itself with the original build of Free City meanwhile Antwan would get full ownership of Free City 2 and all of its franchise and other rights. Antwan accepted as he saw no need for Free City 1 anymore. Unfortunately for Antwan, due to him arrogantly rushing the development of Free City 2, the game was a buggy and borderline unplayable mess, becoming an instant flop.
As for Life Itself, it became the game it was always meant to be, a peaceful slice of life simulator with complex and growing AI characters with players visiting them and doing whatever they want (legally of course). After looking through the code, Guy realized that the reason he and Millie shared many interests was because he was designed as a “love letter” for Millie from Keys. After she learns this, Millie gets together with Keys.
You’d think Guy would be upset, but why would he? He may have not truly met the special person but he found something better, freedom. He would no longer have to live in constant chaos from Players, now he and his friends could live in peace and do whatever they wanted. It was then when Guy finally became Free!
ABILITIES
RALPH
CHARGE ATTACK (GIF)
While Ralph is obviously based off of Donkey Kong, apparently he wanted some Wario inspiration too because when he does this, he can bulldoze through anything he could normally break.
STOMP ATTACK (GIF)
Ralph is also capable of jumping and doing a stomp attack, basically like the charge attack but downwards. Think of Sonic’s Stomp Attack.
DISNEY HEROES: BATTLE MODE SKILLS
DISNEY SORCERER’S ARENA ABILITIES
8-BIT BLAST (GIF)
Ralph is a usable summon in KH3... yeah he didn't have a story in a mainline Kingdom Hearts game. Here, he creates a bunch of blocks Minecraft style and then punches the ground hard enough that all of the blocks explode, having their shattered bricks and the explosion hurting the nearby enemy with a decent AOE attack.
GROUND SHAKE (GIF)
So something you probably didn’t expect was that Ralph actually had a story in a Kingdom Hearts game after all, just not a mainline game, in the mobile game called Kingdom Hearts Union X! Ralph in this game is capable of punching the ground several times hard enough to cause all nearby hanging objects to come crashing down on the opponent.
GUY
MEMORY
After every death Guy experiences, he manages to remember what happened and learn from it after getting himself a pair of sunglasses. Also after Millie’s kiss, he now has all of his memories from Life Itself.
ARSENAL
RALPH
HOVERBOARD
Ralph borrowed this to fly to the soda volcano. It’s also fairly fast as you’ll see later.
LOST & FOUND
The Lost & Found was a place Ralph tried to search for a medal first, it’s not like anyone else is going to use these items so Ralph might as well put them to good use.
Cockroach: Ok, maybe that wasn’t the best item to start out with. Maybe Guy has katsaridaphobia?
Mushroom: Users who use this can grow in size, increase their strength, and can take extra damage.
Metal Gear Solid !: I guess Ralph could toss this at Guy’s head?
Zangief’s Undies: Gross man…
Wow, none of that was useful except for the mushroom lol.
MARSHMALLOW
In “Sugar Rush Sweet Climber”, Ralph can grab a hold of one of these special marshmallows that allow Ralph to briefly hover over the air for a brief moment.
SODA JETPACK
Sorry for the poor image quality but this should be self explanatory, Ralph stores a bunch of soda that can propel himself upwards.
GIANT PIN
If there’s one good thing Wreck-It Ralph 2 did it was giving Ralph a giant pin to fight a Kaiju Ralph with, it was admittedly cool. While it doesn’t do a whole lot else, it does show Ralph’s ingenuity and strength. Also getting hit with this thing has got to hurt.
CHERRY BOMBS
In Disney Infinity, Ralph can toss Cherry Bombs which should be obvious on what it does, giving Ralph an explosive projectile attack.
SONIC & ALL-STARS RACING TRANSFORMED PICKUPS
Considering Ralph was a racer in this game, he should have access to the various pickups (items) that are usable in-game.
DISNEY SPEEDSTORM SKILLS
Just like in the other racing game, Disney Speedstorm have their own special power-ups Ralph used on the track.
RIBBON (GIF)
I don’t like how gracefully Ralph was moving for the first half, guess it shows some impressive agility. Still looks cursed.
HERO’S DUTY GUN
Seems like Ralph got better at using this according to this merchandise. Listen, if Felix can be strapped, so can Ralph.
GUY
SUNGLASSES
While these may look like just for normal reasons you’d wear sunglasses, this is the most important piece of Guy’s arsenal. This allows Guy to view in-game objects, the UI, and mechanics along with the ability to access his inventory which stores the rest of his arsenal.
SHOTGUN
Of course living inside a game that was turned into a hero shooter would have guns in it, and Guy has held a couple of them in the movie. He briefly stole this shotgun that managed to blast a large hole at a robber.
DESERT EAGLE MARK VII
Ryan Reynolds can’t stay away from Desert Eagles can he?
DUEL GLOCK 17’S
Guy had these stored in his pockets for Millie to use to kill several enemies.
MINIGUN
Despite its name, there is nothing mini about this gun! It fires several bullets at a fast pace with high firepower.
OTHER GUNS/WEAPONS HE SHOULD HAVE
While Guy doesn’t really use too many guns, we do know that he has a majority if not just outright all of the weapons in Free City after a bit of grinding, so he should have the guns that other Players have been seen wielding.
Colt Anaconda: A small easily transportable gun that delivers quick and easy shots.
Walther PPQ Q5 Match: This gun optimized for fast shots, often used for target practice.
M1928 Thompson: A gun that is used primarily for close ranged combat thanks to its short burst rapid fire.
IMI Mini Uzi: UZI! LIKE UZI DO- I used this joke before in a previous blog haven’t I…
SIG-Sauer MPX: Another gun that is used primarily for close ranged combat thanks to its speed and accuracy, although its shots can be a bit dirty.
AKM: Run of the mill Assault Rifle here, nothing else to really say.
CSI STAR XR5 FG-1503: The perfect middle ranged gun thanks to its general all rounder stats when it comes to assault rifles.
M16A2: A standard issue rifle used for its effective range and high ammunition.
SVD Dragunov: Don’t worry, the list of guns will end in a bit…
DShK: This is a machine gun, you know how fast and powerful these babies are!
RPG: Probably the most powerful of these weapons, able to create large explosions.
HEALTH PACK
This allows Guy to heal himself back to prime condition, recovering from broken bleeding noses and possible broken bones. He’s also been shown to store these so he should be capable of using them in a neutral environment.
BIG UPS SHOES
While Guy did want these shoes for fashion related reasons, these shoes actually live up to their name and give Guy the ability to jump incredible heights up to 3 times!
BOUNCY SUIT
A useful suit that allows Guy to survive enormous falls without a scratch.
MEGA BUSTER
Haha reference! This allows Guy to shoot a condensed plasma blast! Expect a couple other crossover weapons.
CAPTAIN AMERICA’S SHIELD
What the shit?
HULK HAND
You ever got jumped by a guy wearing hulk hands?
LIGHTSABER
That’s a Lightsaber! You’ll know this as every character in the movie had to say this.
LLAMA PICKAXE
Guy managed to turn his Lightsaber into the Fortnite Llama Pickaxe, I guess he got something from Fortnite after all!
GRAVITY GUN
The only weapon Guy used that wasn’t a crossover reference during the Dude fight, neat. Anyways, this gun telekinetically grabs the enemy and tosses them at the direction the gun is pointed at.
PORTAL GUN
Using this allows Guy to open a portal to go somewhere else, he’s even able to travel fairly long distances with this. Maybe he could BFR someone although he seems more focused on using this as a getaway tactic.
WATERMELON (GIF)
FAKE TUNNEL (GIF)
FIRE EXTINGUISHER (GIF)
VEHICLES
RALPH
SONIC & ALL-STARS RACING TRUCK
In this game, Ralph has a miniature truck with a wrecking ball attached at the back. The unique thing about this kart is that it’s capable of turning into a boat and a helicopter.
DISNEY SPEEDSTORM KART
Instead of a truck, Ralph uses a kart that uses the Boost meter as previously mentioned.
GUY
MOTORCYCLE
Motorcycles are able to travel very fast, clearly Jacksepticeye knows this.
HIGHER LEVEL TRANSPORTS
A bunch of neat vehicles that Guy unlocked after his leveling up grind.
SUPPORT
RALPH
BONUS LEVEL WRECKING CREW
When Ralph and Felix gave the unplugged characters a home, they also allowed them to act as additional enemies for Felix and Q*bert to battle! Some of these are Q*bert enemies while others are ones made up for the movie. Regardless of origin, they aid Ralph with several useful abilities attached to themselves such as flight, giant lasers, fireballs, and for the dynamite guy he can create a giant explosion!
GUY
GOLDIE
This fish may not do much…
…
What? Were you expecting me to say something else?
FORMS
RALPH
HAM HANDS
In Lorcana, some characters get in contact with a chaotic ink substance known as Floodborn Glimmers! Ralph was one of these characters and transformed into this form, there’s no real evidence for higher scaling or unique abilities but it does look cool.
GUY
MENTALITY
RALPH
Ralph may have his moments of simple mindedness, but he’s also shown to be clever on a couple of occasions. He’s good at using the environment around him, like using a nearby straw as a snorkel in a chocolate lake and when he used the Soda Volcano Mentos to create a beacon to kill the Cy-Bugs. He also created a plan to save Vanellope that worked, is good at integration, and can actually make a good looking shack.
But obviously Ralph is a better fighter than a thinker, 30+ years of duking out with Felix helps with that. He’s able to defeat hordes of Cy-Bugs and uses his large size to his advantage. He showed some good skills while fighting King Candy and managed to put up a good fight against Arthur despite being at a strength disadvantage.
GUY
Obviously surviving in a shooter game requires some skills, which is something that Guy does possess thankfully. We know that even before wearing sunglasses Guy was smart enough to work at a bank which requires some level of intelligence. Also he didn’t do too shabby in his first fight when he started fighting back. The robber was actively trying to kill him and Guy successfully survived, outwrestled him, and stole his sunglasses.
But once Guy started wearing sunglasses, his skills grew. He rose to level 100 in a short enough time that he gained world wide popularity, constantly learning from his deaths and adapting his strategies. He has defeated several enemy NPCs and Players who are all skilled fighters and know the game in and out.
Guy has shown to be a fairly defensive fighter, often avoiding death and counterattacking when the opponent leaves themselves open. He’s not great at actual fisticuffs, but he is good at separating himself from the opponent and taking them down peacefully. In the Dude fight, we saw that Guy is actually good with ranged attacks as when he was focusing on that, he was almost untouchable and Dude couldn’t get past his defenses until he caught Guy off guard.
RESISTANCES
RALPH
Limited Mind Manipulation: Felix can ignore the players commands if he so chooses, going “Turbo” implies that everyone can do this.
Limited Heat: Ralph can survive droplets of a volcano dripping on his feet. Although dunking in the entire thing would’ve killed him.
Electricity: Ralph can survive getting electrocuted by Blanka and getting shot by a taser.
GUY
Heat: Other NPCs can survive being engulfed in fire and Dude can take hits from a lightsaber which is literally plasma.
FEATS
RALPH

SCALING
RALPH
FIX-IT FELIX
Obviously Ralph is physically stronger than Felix and has shown to keep up fine in speed, so scaling should be valid.
Felix actually dodges gunfire this, like no timing or evading, he just point blank dodges it (Mach 1 - Mach 1.3)
ARCADE & INTERNET FRIENDS
Ralph has shown to be the strongest character in terms of raw strength and can keep up with the entire cast in speed. Just like Felix, Ralph should easily scale.
Spammely and E-boy are able to travel to other websites (0.66 C) Debatable, See Before Verdict
ARTHUR THE INSECURITY VIRUS
Probably the only thing that was able to exceed Ralph in strength, but even then it took all of the virus Ralph’s together in order to overpower him. Also Ralph was still able to hurt this giant monster and wasn’t going down without a fight, even taking a giant full effort punch from it, so downscaling should be more than reasonable.
(Also before you asked, no Ralph will not be receiving Arthur as support as not only would it not be able to sense any insecurity from Ralph or Guy since this is looking at them at their best, but it is also hostile to Ralph and Ralph himself isn’t likely to use him anyways.)
CROSSOVER ARCADE RESIDENTS
This sounds strange, and this is totally optional, but Ralph should be physically stronger than most of the residents in the Arcade. Ralph is shown to trade blows with the Cy-Bug queen, who nobody in the Arcade could stop, so it’s possible Ralph would be able to upscale the rest of the cast (also Felix was able to perceive the Hero’s Duty ship flying while Sonic wasn’t, take that however you want).
Although, the only feats Ralph will scale here is what’s shown in either the selected games shown or the first games since that’s what’s most likely in the arcade. For example: Sonic has shown to come from Sonic 2 and Sonic the Fighters, nothing else, so Ralph would only scale to feats from there. Look at the Wreck It Ralph wiki for the cameos if you want to see the list yourself, but here’s the impressive feats from that collection.
House of Dead gun can shoot holes in a metal door (599 Kilojoules - 2.2 Megajoules)
The Centurion punches graves (12.9 Megajoules - 147.9 Megajoules)
Sonic knocks down the Death Egg (100 Exatons) Debatable, See Before Verdict
Ok so there is one feat in Wreck-It-Ralph that one of these guys performs, so it’s not as optional.
SCALING
GUY
PLAYERS & NPC’S
Guy has been able to defeat several enemy players and battle Dude who was designed to be a difficult boss fight, so scaling should be obvious.
WEAKNESSES
RALPH
As strong as Ralph is, his strength is only as strong as it is because it balances out his weaknesses. He can have moments of simple mindedness as seen by… almost the entirety of his second movie. His large size can also make him a bit clumsy and have him struggle in tight spaces, along with struggling to fully control his strength. He also does have a temper which can be easily tested.
WEAKNESSES
GUY
As skilled as Guy is, his own flaws are keeping him from being perfect. Guy isn’t super trigger happy or violent, so him using his more lethal parts of his arsenal might be a bit unlikely early which could spell out his doom if he uses them too late. He’s also a very defensive fighter so a foe that can bypass his defenses is basically guaranteed to overwhelm him. Finally without his glasses his versatility on what he can do is extremely limited.
BEFORE WE END THINGS!
RALPH
R>F RALPH?
You know your vs brainrot is bad when your first thought of an emotional scene in a film is “WAIT! Are they Outerversal???" 😭
So in Wreck-It-Ralph, Ralph tosses the medal at the screen so hard that the screen actually makes a thud and the tape falls off. Now one might say that this is just a coincidence and the tape fell off for other reasons, but the actual thud heard says otherwise.
So can Ralph scale to higher dimensions because of this? Absolutely not of course! The feat itself makes sense for the most part, but it’s hilariously so much higher in scale than any other feat in the entire series that it would be the biggest outlier of all time! Not to mention the intention of the scene isn’t meant to show Ralph blowing up several universes or anything like that, it’s just to emphasize what Ralph is feeling at the moment and to show Ralph Vanellope is a character in the arcade. There was absolutely no intention of powerscaling here lol.
So while the feat might seem fine at first, looking more in depth to it reveals the ridiculousness of allowing it.
Sorry Ralph fans, Ralph isn’t Outerversal…
RELATIVISTIC SPEEDS?
Huh, wasn’t expecting to have to see this type of feat again. However unlike last time, it’s a bit more complicated this time.
The way Ralph and Vanellope traveled to the internet was by entering little pods that traveled through wires. Now an immediate counter someone might bring is the fact that the scene doesn’t seem to be moving at these speeds, but considering that people are able to operate in the internet and enter it normally in their perspective, it’s more than likely that this scene is actually just a fancy and fictional way of showing the process of logging in the internet.
So the actual speed is fine and dandy, Ralph scaling to it is the more questionable part. Ralph sadly doesn’t react to anything at these speeds or react to other pods. Now he is able to process objects while traveling at these speeds so it should scale to his processing speeds just fine, but all other speeds are out of the question.
OR IS IT!?!? Because while Ralph can’t scale to the wire traveling, the internet traveling is a bit more debatable. Ralph should scale to Spammley and E-boy, who are able to travel to other websites which would take Relativistic speeds to achieve. Now does Ralph actually scale to these speeds? It fully depends on what you buy. Spammley and E-boy are capable of driving at these speeds and making decisions such as specific stops that would require some reaction speed needed to be made, but otherwise they don’t interact with these speeds too much, could be chalked up to vehicle speeds and not reaction. It’s a little debatable and there is an argument for either end, so let's have it as a nice little high end.
TL;DR: Ralph doesn’t scale to the wire traveling, but debatably scales to the website speeds as a high end.
3 MEGATONS OF BS?
So did Ralph’s durability from the volcano punch seem a little off? Perhaps you might’ve thought it got a little higher last time you checked? 40 Kilojoules to 9 Megajoules isn’t bad, far from it, but it seems a little weaker then… oh let’s say CITY LEVEL? Wasn’t it 3 Megatons of TNT?
Well it turns out we have AnimationRewind of all people to thank for this as he was the one to state this. Now this could’ve been ignored if Leopoldthebrave of all people didn’t say “he checked the math” and it was accurate. Considering that this feat being City level has been brought up twice in two different videos and channels, I suppose it’s time to address this feat.
So despite Leo reportedly “checking the math”, neither video showed any calculation on screen and rather just a “yeah this would be worth 3 Megatons of TNT.” There was an effort made to find out what method was used here, but it couldn’t be found sadly. So unfortunately that just leaves us with modern calculations and formulas to try and find out how impressive this feat is, and obviously 9 Megajoules is nowhere near 3 Megatons of TNT. Even giving the most generous and amateurish calculations possible, it never leaves the Megajoule area, let alone the Megatons area.
Honestly, the idea of this calculation being at 3 Megatons of TNT is a bit absurd. Unless Ralph fell at speeds over Mach 27,000 (yes I checked) then 3 Megatons of TNT sounds absurd! And the idea of Ralph falling that fast from a supposed 4360 foot fall is also absurd as he would’ve landed in 0.14 MILLESECONDS, yeah right!
Also AnimationRewind stated that it was equivalent to 124 million newtons, but that isn’t something that can be conversed without other specifics. Maybe Rewind used some now outdated formula to get this calculation as high as it was, but it would not be invalid. And with all the other reasons shown above, the fall isn't worth 3 Megatons of TNT. It’s more than likely Rewind and Leo confused Tons of TNT for some other metric and probably thought of it valid since it would make Ralph stronger.
So let’s bury this feat once and for all! No it is not 3 Megatons of TNT, far from it!
THE DEATH EGG!?
This hedgehog always tries to make powerscaling unnecessarily complicated doesn’t he?
While most of the feats shown in Sonic 2 and Sonic The Fighters aren’t too impressive and more so back up lower end feats when comparing them to baseline Wreck-It-Ralph, the ending of Sonic 2 takes a 180! At the end of the Death Egg boss fight, Sonic destroys the Death Egg Robot which causes a chain reaction that sends the Death Egg crashing down towards Angel Island.
Now in the Sonic series, this would be an 100% legit feat, however only using Sonic 2 itself the game and Wreck-It-Ralph, it gets very shaky. By only using information presented in the actual game itself with no further context, it is unclear on what fully happened. Obviously the Death Egg does go down, but the full context of the feat is shown in later games and cutscenes of future installments. In Sonic 2 it’s just, he hits the robot hard and then the Death Egg starts blowing up. Also unless you used a “Try Again” screen, it’s not fully clear if Robotnik actually survives it, which could be interpreted to be the case since Sonic did run away from the explosion. Keep in mind that video game characters regenerate from death in their own games so it’s fully possible that this could be the case here.
Of course, using context from later in the Sonic series shows that this feat is legit and Robotnik did survive this, but just using Sonic 2 and scaling to the Death Egg would be shaky. Also let’s not mention how outlandish it is compared to the rest of the Wreck-It-Ralph series (even if it isn’t Outer lol).
GUY
BULLET DODGING?
Credit: SalaComMander
Wait, where’s the bullet dodging feats? That’s probably something that crossed your mind right? Well as it turns out, Guy’s bullet dodging feats are a bit fraudulent sadly.
While Guy has avoided bullets, he hasn’t outright dodged them. Yeah he’s evaded them, but he hasn’t point blank moved away from them. Most of the time he evades bullets because the guy who’s shooting at him had improper aim. Other times, he may “dodge” the bullets, but he moves before the bullets are fired out of the gun, more predicting and avoiding the bullets before they get shot out. Whenever the bullets are fully shot out, characters are blitzed.
Now Guy does get the weapons speed for attack speed, but it doesn’t scale to his reactions or any other form of speed. Bummer but what will you do?
BOTH
CAN THEY EVEN DIE?
An ability you might’ve noticed that was left out was the fact that both Ralph and Guy had some form of immortality. Ralph will always regenerate from death as long as he stays in his own game and Guy will respawn when he dies in Free City. So can they even die?
Well there is some context for both. As Sonic explains, if a video game character in Wreck-It Ralph dies outside of their own game, they don’t regenerate and die permanently. As for Guy, while it is true he can’t die permanently unless his entire game gets deleted (which Ralph doesn’t have a way to accomplish), his respawns do have him spawn back in his bed and he has to get dressed again and go back to where he died, which clearly takes a long enough of a time that the fight could be considered over and the next one to be a rematch.
So for the sake of simplicity and not having this be an eternal fight, Ralph will be fighting Guy outside of his own game and Guy will be fighting a good distance away from his bed so he doesn’t instantly come back. Both of them will be restricted to one life here!

VERDICT
VERSATILITY
When it comes to what Ralph and Guy can bring to the table in terms of versatility, you’d think this would be the easiest point Guy could ever get right? Ralph is more known for using his fists meanwhile Guy has a huge variety of weapons that can keep Ralph at bay. However, Ralph actually can keep up pretty well.
While Ralph generally goes with his fists as a first resort, as seen earlier in the Blog, Ralph actually has a solid arsenal. His hoverboard, marshmallows, and soda jetpacks will give him some good air mobility to get away from Guy. He has a Mushroom that can allow him to take more hits, Cherry Bombs to cause some explosions, and he even has his own gun.
Guy of course is packing a pretty great arsenal. He has several guns which give him plenty of ranged options against Ralph, an RPG to nullify the Cherry Bomb, Health Packs to heal himself, Cap’s shield to protect himself, use the Portal Gun to getaway from Ralph and possibly BFR him, and he has a lightsaber that should hurt Ralph since his heat resistance isn’t high enough to resist something as hot as a lightsaber. Probably Guy’s most useful weapon is his Gravity Gun, this is something that Ralph hasn’t faced or has a counter to, allowing Guy to distance himself away from Ralph’s big ol hands and throw him anywhere he wants to send Ralph.
Looking at all of this, it seems Guy has an advantage despite Ralph’s impressive items, but Ralph’s racing items do prevent this advantage. With them Ralph can increase his speed, stun Guy, use the Glove to protect himself from any projectile attack Guy throws at Ralph, freeze Guy with the Ice Cannon, have bunch of Robot Bees swarm Guy (along with the Bonus Level crew adding to the numbers advantage), use the Twister to make Guy dizzy, shoot homing attacks Guy can’t dodge, turn invisible, have his own shield, and even teleport.
The racing items Ralph has far exceeds Guy’s arsenals advantages, giving Ralph many advantages over Guy. But even without any items Ralph still has useful options to fight Guy with. He has several moves that could stun Guy, silence Guy, heal his own health with “Big Duty”, and can summon blocks nearby to block bullets and create big AOE attacks.
Now you might say that Guy’s Portal Gun could possibly turn the tides in his favor by simply BFR’ing Ralph and being done with it, however this has its own flaws. Not only does Ralph have plenty of options that are just as game changing, but Guy isn’t too likely to do this. The only time it’s been used is to escape from conflict or to toss around people and close in on them. Nobody in Free Guy has used the Portal Gun to BFR people so there is no reason to assume they would. Even then it’s a steep task for Guy as he would have to get Ralph in the portal and he won’t go in without a fight.
But what’s probably the biggest advantage is that Ralph has a way to remove Guy from his arsenal! If Ralph destroys Guy’s sunglasses, this severely limits what Guy can do and removes his ability to access his inventory which holds his entire arsenal!
So while Guy took an early lead, Ralph’s more game changing abilities and ability to exploit Guy’s weaknesses meant that he surprisingly takes this category. RALPH takes VERSATILITY!
STRATEGY
Ok so Guy wasn’t doing so hot when it comes to useful abilities and weapons, but perhaps his brain can get around this.
Now Ralph is definitely not an idiot (at least in the first movie), he’s more of an “everyman” if you will. Ralph has shown to be clever at times, showing excellent knowledge in carpentry and integration. At his best, Ralph is quite good at using the environment around him, using nearby objects around the field to his advantage.
But it shouldn’t take a genius to figure out that Guy was a bit smarter than Ralph. Once again, not that Ralph is dumb or anything but Guy has just shown superior intelligence feats. He’s a much more defensive fighter and is quicker to learn from his mistakes than Ralph does. Guy also is good at using the environment around him and while his arsenal may be lesser in terms of useful abilities, he makes up for it by using what he has very effectively and keeps his opponent at a distance.
Ralph is a decent strategist when it comes down to it, but the topic of his main strategy has been danced around because it just makes things clear on who takes this. Ralph’s strategy is pretty simplistic, he goes in swinging blindly using his raw strength above all else. Now who does that sound like? That’s right, DUDE!
Ralph at the start of a fight fights pretty similarly to Dude, whom Guy has experience with and defeated. Now in fairness, Ralph is smarter than Dude and won’t stick to this strategy in the long run, but it adds onto the idea and evidence of Guy being the better strategist between the two.
While Ralph put up a better fight then you probably would’ve guessed, it wasn’t enough as Guy takes this point. GUY takes STRATEGY!
COMBAT
Wait, why is this a category, wouldn’t it be similar to Strategy? Well it’s because both Ralph and Guy have significant advantages over each other when it comes to who’s the better fighter.
When it comes to CLOSE RANGE combat, Ralph is easily the better fighter. Ralph’s general offensive and defensive style of throwing his fists are superior to Guy’s defensive hand to hand. Guy typically tries to fight his opponent passively, but it’s going to be difficult given Ralph’s huge size and his big ham hands. There’s no doubt that if it came down to fisticuffs, Ralph would have a significant advantage.
When it comes to FAR RANGE combat however, Guy does a whole lot better. Ralph does have a lot of far ranged options, but while it is arguably better than Guy’s, Guy uses his more effectively. Guy isn’t a fool and he would know by just looking at Ralph’s stature that trying to fight Ralph with his fists would probably be a bad idea. Ralph typically tries to fight with his hands, this would give Guy the opportunity to use his better far ranged combat to style on Ralph. After all, we see how effective Guy is with this style of combat against Dude, a lot more impressive then Ralph's far ranged combat. Ralph uses his long ranged options as one time use power ups while Guy uses his long ranged options as a primary fighting style.
So it’s pretty clear that Ralph is a better fighter up close, while Guy is a better fighter from a distance. Both of these could result in a quick victory so the other factors will help decide which outcome is more likely. COMBAT is a DRAW!
SPEED
So if the fight's pace will be settled on who can press their advantages first, speed could help make it more clear on who’s got this!
When it comes to Ralph, on his own he has impressive feats being able to outpace cars with his hands, his wrecking reaching Superhuman levels of speed, and his hoverboard is able to travel around half the speed of sound. Ralph may not look like it but he is a lot faster than you would think.
Guy on the other hand is someone you would expect to be faster. He’s consistently been able to evade out of the way from incoming attacks and he’s managed to react to trucks and trains before which would take impressive Superhuman speeds to accomplish. His gravity gun could also match Ralph’s wrecking speeds at Superhuman speeds. Guy’s most impressive speed feat was being able to jump over 50 stories in around 4 seconds which would be 47.2 m/s, entering the Subsonic area.
Currently right now Ralph and Guy aren’t too far off with each other, Ralph may have a travel speed advantage but Guy has a reaction speed advantage. But the answer of who’s faster becomes a lot more clear when you include scaling. Simply put, Guy had no way to match up to Ralph’s consistent Supersonic scaling.
Ralph can scale to Felix who can dodge bullets which would result at Mach 1 - 1.3 speeds, perceive a pod moving at Mach 2.1, the Surge Protector can travel as electricity which would be Mach 1.6, and Sonic is obviously very consistently stated to be faster than sound. This is a lot more than Guy can react to, his bullet dodging feats don’t count since he reacts to them before they get fired or the bullets not being even close to hitting him. And if you buy the Relativistic ends for Ralph then the gap in speed gets so large that Ralph would basically blitz Guy.
This is not even mentioning the fact that Ralph had a couple ways to boost his own speed. RALPH takes SPEED!
STRENGTH
Final category time, it’s time to finally settle who is stronger… if that’s really a question you’ve been wondering for some reason.
Don’t get it twisted, Guy is quite strong when compared to a normal human, 95.9 Kilojoules physically is nothing to scoff at, and the Gravity Gun’s 3.35 Megajoules is even more impressive. But Ralph has several upon several feats that easily outdo this.
Ralph breaking the fungeon door, wrecking the nicelanders building everyday, surviving an impact with a mentos volcano, scaling to a badnik going through a wall and the Centurion destroying a grave, and most ridiculously of all eating a bunch of ice cream are all higher in the Megajoules area. Now you could argue Guy could chip damage Ralph, but not only would the speed gap make this strategy unviable, but this isn’t even factoring the higher end Wreck-It Ralph feats.
Ralph should scale to Arthur whose size and punches would generate 41.8 Tons of TNT. Even if you don’t think this is valid, Ralph could scale to Sonic surviving the escape pod crashing into him at full speeds which the Kinetic Energy would be worth 11.1 Tons of TNT. This would make the strength gap so wide that Guy basically couldn’t hurt Ralph.
At the end of the day, I don’t think it takes a genius to figure out who’s stronger. Just look at the two of them and you’ll know lol. Ralph is known for his strength so it’s fitting he gets this. RALPH takes STRENGTH!

Damn, I think having the name Guy is starting to become a curse in these Blogs huh? Despite Guy’s advantages, he ultimately lacked a good way to keep Ralph down.
Guy’s arsenal was more obviously deadly, but not only was Ralph’s arsenal better in the long run, but Guy couldn’t really hurt him. Even without using the higher ends and only using the Megajoule feats, Ralph was 44 times stronger than Guy’s strongest weapons and 1500 times stronger than Guy physically! Ralph would only need one hit to win and this is without mentioning the higher end strength feats and the big speed gap between the two.
Guy’s intelligence and range advantages are solid, but they aren’t enough to get past the insane stat gap… kind of like the last Guy named blog… and not mentioning the multiple ways Ralph’s arsenal could screw over Guy…
Maybe when Free Guy 2 comes out things will become a bit more fair, until then it’s Game Over for Guy!
Guy’s chances of winning were WRECKED, as for Ralph you could say he got a FREE win!
Who Would Win? Wreck-It Ralph!

Just curious, what’s the music used for the next time trailer?
